What’s the difference between a Fibreglass Swimming Pool & Concrete Pool? Which design is best for you?

Deciding on the right pool design for your needs is one of the biggest decisions you will make. The two most popular pool layouts are constructed from Fibreglass and Concrete – each with it’s own advantages and disadvantages.  

As a reputable swimming pool builder, we’ve outlined some simple differences to help make your choice easier including important elements such as the size of your backyard, lifestyle requirements, design goals and budget restraints.

Fibreglass Pools

• Fibreglass pools are made from pre made fabrications direct from the factory. Although a more affordable option, choice is limited when it comes to design alterations, sizing and shape preferences;
• There’s less work involved with a fibreglass pool design. Once the pre made cast is completed, your pool builder will focus on the ground excavation, landscaping, installation of filtration systems, fencing and everything else needed to bring your desired pool to completion;
• Have a faster turnaround time and can often be installed within 7 days;
• The gel coating used on raw fibreglass pools delivers a smooth, durable and glossy finish.

• Is custom designed and built onsite right from the very start of the project;
• Designing a concrete pool is a comprehensive process, requiring a longer time frame for base setting, tiling, plastering and sealant finish;
• Concrete is a heavy duty material & can be constructed in a range of different designs, shapes and sizing to suit your personal pool specifications;
• Concrete pools are most suitable for an outdoor area that requires custom features, flexible design & landscaping solutions.
